Can I use PEX for the shower head?
If you need a shower / tub faucet, you can use PEX for hot and cold water supply and for the shower head base, but NOT on the tub spout.
Can I also shower with 3 4 PEX?
The deciding factor is how far you should drive at the same time. A 1/2 pex line that feeds two shower heads is close to the maximum flow rate of the pipes, depending on the hot / cold mix. 3/4 pex is slightly larger than 1/2 copper and 3/4 copper is probably a good size for a group of bathrooms.
So the question is: can PEX be used for the mouth of the tub?

How to Install PEX in a Bathroom?
Using PEX is pretty straightforward. SharkBite recommends that the crimp rings be between 1/8 and 1/4 of the end of the PEX. Slide the crimp ring over the PEX, then the bracket into the pipe. Use the crimp tool at a 90 degree angle to the PEX and pull the crimp ring together.
