Search Robot - How To Discuss

By Olivia House

Search Robot

Search bots are automated tools used by search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo! used to create your databases. Also known as bots, roamers, crawlers, and spiders, these robots systematically search the web for new sites and updates to existing sites, and keep track of the digital spaces they explore. They do this by following a series of links, recognizing links between web pages, and processing data such as content, sitemaps, links, and HTML code to create an up-to-date index. Because search robots are automated, they process the analyzed data much faster and more accurately than a human. They are mainly used by search engines that use them to analyze web content. However, spammers also use software bots to search for email addresses and personal information. Crawlers can see all content unless it is encrypted with a robots.txt file that prevents them from accessing it.
